About CLD Design SA
CLD Design SA is a watch subcontractor based in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, since July 2020. We run a watch project from start to finish: case design and engineering, prototypes, industrialisation, machining, finishing, assembly, final inspection and after-sales service. Machining is carried out by our partner workshops in Plan-les-Ouates; the other steps are carried out in our own offices and workshop.
Our clients are watch brands and other subcontractors. A brand launching a model can entrust us with the whole project; a brand outsourcing a single step, such as casing or after-sales service, orders that step on its own. A subcontractor that has to deliver a finished product sends us the operations it does not carry out itself.

What we do
We design and engineer the exterior of the watch: the case, bezel, caseback and crown. We do not design movements. The movement, dial, hands and crystal are bought-in components; we find their suppliers, then assemble the watch and case the movement in our workshop.
| Service | What we do | Carried out by |
|---|---|---|

Each service can also be ordered on its own. Together, they make up Swiss watch development in Geneva, from drawing to after-sales.
The steps a watch must go through in Switzerland to carry the Swiss made indication are explained on our page Swiss made, Geneva provenance and the Geneva Seal (Poinçon de Genève).
The workshop in Plan-les-Ouates
Our workshop is at Chemin du Pré-Fleuri 15, Plan-les-Ouates, in the canton of Geneva. This is where prototypes are assembled and fine-tuned, where parts are finished, assembled and inspected, and where watches come back for after-sales service. Case engineering is done in our offices, also in Plan-les-Ouates.
Each batch has its own file, opened on receipt, and the inspection report is supplied on request. The same person handles your file from quotation to delivery.
Machining by our partner workshops
Machining is carried out by our partner workshops in Plan-les-Ouates. We order it to the dimensioned drawings and 3D files produced during engineering, and we are answerable for it; parts are checked on arrival in our workshop, before finishing.
You sign one contract, with CLD Design SA, and receive one invoice: we are answerable to you for the whole project, machining included. What that contract covers is set out on the page Swiss watch development in Geneva.
How drawings move on to machining is described on the page watch prototyping, industrialisation and machining.
